White Chocolate Peppermint Matcha Latte
White Chocolate Peppermint Matcha Latte combines the earthy flavor of matcha with the refreshing coolness of peppermint and the sweet richness of white chocolate. Instead of peppermint syrup, I like to use peppermint tea for a more natural flavor.
Try switching it up and creating your favorite matcha latte flavors. Use other teas in place of the peppermint (chai, lavender, and orange spice are all great combinations) and switch up the white chocolate for dark.
On top of that, matcha can support your metabolism. It’s been shown to promote fat burning and calorie efficiency, which makes it a great choice for weight management, whether you’re maintaining your current weight or working toward a goal. Plus, it’s good for your heart and helps with detoxification, giving you even more reasons to enjoy it.
To get the most out of matcha, stick with high-quality ceremonial-grade options. That way, you can fully enjoy all these amazing health benefits.
White Chocolate Peppermint Matcha Latte
Ingredients
- 2 tsp matcha tea
- 1 1/2 tsp finely chopped cacao butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup double strength peppermint tea
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 scoop collagen powder (optional)
Instructions
- Place the matcha tea, cacao butter, sugar, and vanilla extract in a preheated one cup measuring cut that has a spout.
- Bring the peppermint tea to a boil and pour into the measuring cup. Stir to dissolve. Set aside.
- Foam the milk by heating it on the stove top or in the microwave until it is about 150 degrees F. Do not boil. Pour the milk into a large preheated mug.
- Using a handheld frothing wand, beat the milk until it has tripled in volume. Alternatively, use the steamer wand on an espresso machine.
- Pour the matcha tea blend in a circular motion into the foam.
- Enjoy!
Notes
Adjust the amount of matcha tea to suit your preference. I like a strong matcha flavor, you may prefer less. If you're not sure, start with 1 tsp and add more as needed.
If you don't have cacao butter, you can substitute 2 tbsp white chocolate chips for the cacao butter and sugar. The calorie count is comparable. I don't use the chips because they have a lot of ingredients I prefer not to eat.
You can replace the sugar with your favorite sweetener. I often use stevia powder.
