Together, these ingredients create a light, slightly tart, and naturally creamy ice cream with a delightful texture and refreshing flavor.

Perfect for a healthier dessert or a cooling summer snack, this homemade ice cream is easy to make and free from artificial ingredients. Enjoy it on its own, or pair it with fresh berries and a drizzle of honey for an extra-special treat!

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup whole milk kefir
  • 1 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients, except the poppyseeds, in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Add the poppyseeds and pulse to blend.
  3. Pour the ice cream into an ice cream machine and freeze according to manufacturer's directions.
  4. If you don't have an ice cream maker, pour the ice cream into a shallow pan and place in the freezer. Every 15 minutes or so scrape the sides and stir the ice cream with a spoon. You're breaking up the crystals so it has a smooth consistency. Continue scraping and stirring until it has a firm ice cream consistency.
